Paul is in Jerusalem on his third missionary journey and accused by the Jews of defiling the temple. This begins a chain of events that, by God's providence, will eventually see Paul as a prisoner in a Roman jail. A messenger arrives from the church Paul established at Philippi, bearing gifts from the church to help Paul in his situation. Paul is stirred to write a letter to the church in response.
